Thulium fiber laser in BPH surgery: Bench to bedside - a systematic review on behalf of YAU Urotechnology Working Group

چکیده
Introduction The Thulium fiber laser (TFL) is a new device that in contrast to the other solid-state YAG-based lasers takes different approach pulse formation allowing for two modes: QCW (quasi-continuous wave) function, TFL convenient soft tissue surgery and SP (Superpulsed) mode it highly effective lithotripsy. Thus, unlike thulium (Tm : YAG), can be used wide range of surgical procedures. Materials Methods We conducted systematic search 3 databases: Medline, Scopus Cochrane library. All original articles (both preclinical clinical) on application were included data analysis. Results In terms its cutting properties, not inferior lasers, fact allows decreased carbonization (due lower heat production) compared continuous (e.g. Tm YAG). It has been successfully endoscopic enucleation prostate (EEP) en bloc resection bladder tumors (ERBT). efficacy safety this comparable TURP simple prostatectomy, but recovery period shorter learning curve slightly superior There are no significant differences between Ho YAG during EEP. Unfortunately, there clinical studies analyse EEP or ERBT. Conclusion safe tool BPH surgery. parameters, way However, surpasses these usability serviceability. These advantages likely render more popular over time.

Bench-to-bedside review: Inotropic drug therapy after adult cardiac surgery – a systematic literature review
Many adult patients require temporary inotropic support after cardiac surgery. We reviewed the literature systematically to establish, present and classify the evidence regarding choice of inotropic drugs. The available evidence, while limited in quality and scope, supports the following observations; although all beta-agonists can increase cardiac output, the best studied beta-agonist and the ...
متن کاملBench-to-bedside review: Genetic influences on
This review discusses the possible involvement of a variety of genetic polymorphisms on the course of meningococcal disease. It has been shown that several common genetic polymorphisms can either influence the susceptibility to meningococcal disease or can account for a higher mortality rate in patients. Gene polymorphisms concerning antibody receptors, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) binding receptor...

متن کاملAbdominal compliance: A bench-to-bedside review.
Abdominal compliance (AC) is an important determinant and predictor of available workspace during laparoscopic surgery. Furthermore, critically ill patients with a reduced AC are at an increased risk of developing intra-abdominal hypertension and abdominal compartment syndrome, both of which are associated with high morbidity and mortality. Despite this, AC is a concept that has been neglected ...
